Ciampino Airport
Ciampino was already Rome's airport way back in 1916. And
it remained an important airport as the history of civil aviation
unfolded. Its structure has been constantly updated over the
years to respond to the developments and requirements of modern
air traffic. The exploit of Generale Nobile, who took off
from Ciampino in the dirigible Norge on April 10, 1926, for
his famous polar overflight, is part of aviation history,
as well as, the first Alitalia international flight of July
6, 1947. The global restructuring of Rome Ciampino Airport
"Giovan Battista Pastine" is part of modern reality. It offers
services and facilities that meet the highest international
standards, and which satisfy the most stringent requirements
of airlines, charter companies, tour operators, business aviation
and cargo handlers.
 Taxi
You are advised to use licensed taxis only (yellow and white
cars with meter).From Ciampino to Rome or viceversa: the ride
takes about 20 minutes. Fares: about €35. Additional
fees applied for luggage, night runs and for Sundays and holidays.
  Car
Ciampino Airport is only 20 minutes from the centre of Rome.
It can be easily reached by Via Appia Nuova.
 Bus
The Bus service connects the Airport to Ciampino railway station
and Anagnina underground station. Trains from Ciampino to
Roma Termini Station, every 15 minutes. Underground from Anagnina
to the centre of Rome, every 5/10 minutes. Bus service is
operated by CO.TRA.L., by Schiaffini commercial company and
by Romavision company
(tel. +39063218122 ). Bus stop and bus ticket vending machine
are situated next to the Departures and Arrivals Terminals.
COTRAL's bus tickets can be also bought in the shops inside
the Terminals, instead the Schiaffini's bus tickets can be
bought on the bus and the Romavision's in the stand located
in the arrival terminal.
