EVENTS
Rome is a city which offers various
attractions all year round. To keep an update on what is
available we suggest the local weekly paper in ROMA C'E'
which continually informs you of what the city has to offer.
There are also regular shows and feasts held in various
suburbs or single streets, here is one:
- Cento Pittori in Via Margutta
It is held in spring and autumn in
one of Rome's most characteristic
streets. The Christmas edition is held in Piazza di Spagna.
Is held every year between mid June
to mid July on the banks of the Tiber
River (Tevere) between the bridge at Castel Sant'Angelo
and the Cavour
Bridge; is open from 18.00 to 1.00 in the morning. This
event mainly
involves local Italian hand made wares and crafts, but there
are also food
stands selling pasta, jams and preserves, olive oil, wine
and liquor at
below shop prices.
This local street feast is organized
every year at the end of July.
Trastevere fills with stalls and kiosks where you can eat
anything you like
and find many things to buy.
This fair is held in Via Dei Coronari
twice a year. The first edition begins
during the second half of May and is open from 10.00 to
13.00 and from 16.00
to 23.00. The second edition is held between September and
October, and is
open from Monday to Thursday from 15.00 to 23.00; and from
Friday to Sunday
from 10.00 to 23.00. Leatherwear, jewelry and giftware are
sold along with
antiques.
- Sfilata di alta moda di Trinità
dei Monti
The famous fashion parade takes place
mid July down the spectacular Spanish
Steps at Trinita' Dei Monti, south of Piazza di Spagna,
it is very exclusive
as seating is reserved for people with invitations. The
general public
stands the seating area.
This elegant roman street occasionally
holds art exhibitions and special
evenings where art galleries and antique shops remain open
until late at
night offering drinks and snacks to their visitors.
