TERMINI STATION

Rome Termini station is the biggest station in Europe and the first tangible testimony of the work done with the “Grandi Stazioni” (Great Stations) programme. .The renovation project has concerned not only the architectonic aspect of the station but also the services offered to the public. Conservative restoration work has been carried out on the monumental parts of the building, including the redevelopment of the stairs, lifts, moving walkways and also renovation work to bring the sign system up to date.
The Entrance Hall
The entrance hall, which opened in 1950 and has recently been renovated, enhances the original structure, with masterly light effects and a brilliant white mosaic tessera. The entrance hall is known as “del Dinosauro” (the dinosaur) due to its futuristic curvilinear roof.

The Mezzanine
The mezzanine can be found under a cascade of mosaic tessera, an elegant space where one can pass the time pleasantly at the Bar Autogrill or at the Ciao restaurant. Along with the refreshment points, the Mezzanine offers a small but much sought-after shopping area, with TIM and Benetton points of sale.

The Ticket Office
Walking into the entrance hall of the station the first thing you see is the Rome Termini ticket office, which has 25 counters equipped with luminous leds, along with the 52 automatic ticket machines throughout the entire station.

The Termini Bookshop
In front of the ticket office, the Termini bookshop, enclosed in a futuristic ceiling of glass and steel without corners, designed by the architect Pierluigi Cerri.

The Termini Forum
The shopping centre of the station: 12,000 square meters containing more than 100 shops with a vast range of products, open 7 days a week from 8.00 to 22.00 without breaks. You can also find a bar, café and the new big Fast Food Court.

The Central Gallery
The Central gallery is the centre of the new station where visitors can use innovative services such as:

-Travel/vehicle licensing agency
-The FS information points
-A city of Rome tourist information
-The offices of the police and carabinieri
-Telephone services
-Newsagent’s and tobacconist's

Along the 220 metres which join via Marsala to via Giolitti, you can find Italian refreshments and the best fast food around. Next to platform one (primo binario), the Multi Service gives the public the possibility to:
-Rent a car, motorcycle or bicycle
-Book couchettes and sleeping cars
-Change currency
-Check in with Alitalia before boarding the Leonardo Express for Fiumicino airport.

“Services of quality cannot exist without quality spaces, the station is a place where people come to meet, to drink a coffee or to shop”.
